The College is saddened to learn of the death of Emeritus Fellow and former Fellow in Law Mr John Kaye on Wednesday 26 February, aged 93.
John Kaye received a 1st class BA in Jurisprudence in 1954 and a 1st class BCL in 1956 (Magdalen College). He was Praelector and Fellow in Law at Queen’s from 1957-1999 and then an Emeritus Fellow from 1999-2025. He was also Keeper of the Archives from 1977-2001.
We hold in our archives works by John Kaye on the muniments of God’s House Hospital in Southampton, as well as his work on medieval English conveyances.
