The College warmly congratulates Professor José Carrillo who has received the International Tartufari Prize 2024 in the “Mathematics, Mechanics and their applications” category by the Accademia dei Lincei in Rome. The prize is awarded every four years by the Accademia.
Professor Carrillo received the award for the notable results he has achieved in various fields, including kinetic theories, population dynamics, and gradient flows. The laudation also said that from a methodological point of view, he has used various innovative and refined mathematical techniques. His scientific production is impressive and has had a notable impact within the community. Furthermore, his international visibility is of the highest level, as also demonstrated by the positions he has held at several prestigious universities.
