On Saturday 26 July 2025, Rick (Geology, 1975) and Janeen Haythornthwaite will host a reception for Old Members at their home near Juillac in Gironde, just over an hour’s drive east of Bordeaux.
As part of this special evening, the College Choir, conducted by Waverley Fellow in Music Professor Owen Rees, will be performing a selection of madrigals before and after dinner.
Old Members are invited to bring a guest, but spaces are limited and priority will be given to Old Member bookings.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide overnight accommodation but rooms should be available in either Bordeaux or the surrounding area.

Choir Tour
The performance in Juillac will mark the first stop on the Choir’s wider summer tour of France. On Sunday 27 July, the College Choir will sing Sunday morning Mass in Bordeaux Cathedral (10.30am), and you can hear them perform later that day in Gensac (c5 minutes’ drive south) at the village’s annual summer festival. On Monday 28th July they will sing an evening concert in St-Sernin in Toulouse, and will finish their tour with a concert in Paris on 29 July (location and time TBC).
