The James Street College House is home to 12 students and is located a couple of minutes away from the College’s Cardo Building.

I would say that James Street is a good option because it’s a cosy, normal house and good if you aren’t too keen on the halls-style of living. The kitchens are the reason why I decided to move here as we get to share a decent sized kitchen with around 5 other people which is especially fun if you move here with your friends! There is also the added bonus of having a very clear line between work and rest that you might not get if you choose to live in college. After a long day at the library, you can walk home and clear your mind a little – if this is important to you then James Street is ideal. Equally, if late nights in the library are more your thing, then check out the main college rooms instead.

The best part about James Street is that it really feels like a home. There’s two kitchens and only 12 people so it’s really communal. Cowley Road and the Iffley sport complex are nearby, and College is only 10-15 minutes away so nothing ever feels too far out of the way.
